Free VPS trial for one month
Before you pay for a server, you should know it does what you need. New natbox customers can run a small server free for one month: install your bot, your website or your VPN, and see how it behaves. If you like it, keep the same server on a paid plan, with your files and addresses unchanged.
What the free trial includes
| Free trial | |
|---|---|
| RAM | 256 MB |
| CPU | 0.5 shared core |
| Disk | 3 GB SSD |
| Ports | 5 forwarded IPv4 ports, plus a routed /80 of IPv6 |
| Bandwidth | 100 GB |
| Length | 1 month, one trial per account |
| Location | Germany |
How the trial works
- Create an account at my.natbox.io with a regular email address. Disposable addresses are refused.
- Order the free trial and pick Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine or AlmaLinux. Your server is ready in under a minute.
- Log in as root over SSH with the details in the client area (getting started guide).
- We email you 7 days and 2 days before the month ends.
- To keep the server, choose a paid plan from the banner on its page. Nothing renews by itself, so you are never charged without asking.
If you do not keep it, the server stops at the end of the month and is deleted 14 days later.
What to try on it
- A Discord bot or Telegram bot.
- A small website on your own domain (guide).
- A personal WireGuard VPN.
- Basic Linux practice: learn Linux on a VPS.
Free VPS trial questions
Do I need a credit card or PayPal for the trial?
No. The trial costs $0, so checkout asks for no payment details.
Why are trial slots limited?
Only a few trial servers run at a time, so paying customers keep their resources. If none are free, try again later or start with Nano at $1.00 a month.
Can I keep my trial server?
Yes. Choose a paid plan from the banner on the server's page, and it is moved to that plan with your data, IP addresses and ports unchanged.
Can I have more than one trial?
No, one per person. Accounts that look like repeat trials are reviewed.
What is not allowed on the trial?
The same as on every plan: no spam, attacks, open proxies or public VPN services. See the acceptable use policy.
