Minecraft server hosting for you and your friends

A one-click Java server on your own Linux box, with root access.

natbox offers NAT VPS hosting with root SSH. Choose Minecraft as the one-click app and we install the latest Java edition and start it on your own port. Box Plus, at $2.25 a month, has 2 GB RAM and 2 shared CPU cores. That suits a small group of friends, not a big public server.

How to set up Minecraft

  1. Order Box Plus and choose Minecraft as the one-click app, on Debian or Ubuntu.
  2. Wait a few minutes. The App tab in the client area shows your address.
  3. Give your friends the address, which looks like natbox.io:10001. The number is one of your own ports.

Prefer to do it by hand, or want plugins and a specific version? Follow the guide: Run a Minecraft server. You have root, so the server files are yours to change.

Minecraft hosting questions

Can I use a Minecraft server on a NAT VPS?

Yes. Your server listens on one of your forwarded ports, and players add that port to the address when they connect.

How many players can it handle?

Box Plus suits a few friends. The real number depends on your version, plugins and how much of the world people explore, so we do not promise a player count.

Can I install plugins or mods?

Yes. You have root over SSH, so you can swap the server for another build and add plugins. Keep an eye on RAM: 2 GB is not much for mods.

What if it is not right for me?

Your first paid server has a 7-day money-back guarantee. See the Refund Policy.
