Cheapest VPS for a Discord bot in 2026
Last updated 31 October 2026 · By Mohammad AlSaraf
A typical Discord bot needs very little: a few hundred MB of RAM, a little disk, and an outgoing connection. It needs no open ports, so a shared IPv4 address does no harm. That makes a NAT VPS the cheapest kind of server that does the job, so this page compares NAT plans only.
Discord bot hosting costs compared
| Plan | RAM | Billing | Cost for a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| natbox Nano | 512 MB | Monthly, $1.00 a month | $9.00 |
| natbox Box | 1 GB | Monthly, $1.25 a month | $12.00 |
| TierHive Micro | 128 MB | Hourly, from $0.10 a month, with a $3 minimum top-up | About $1.20 |
| VirNAT JP-256-KVM | 256 MB | Quarterly or yearly | $3.50 |
| KhanWebHost NL 256MB | 256 MB | Yearly | From $4.99 |
| NATVPS NAT512 | 512 MB | Yearly | $7.50 |
| EQVPS Nano | 1 GB | Monthly, $3.00 | $36.00, or less on its annual option |
Which should you pick?
- Our pick for most bots: natbox Nano. It has 512 MB RAM, you can pay month by month, you can try a server free for a month first, and a person replies within 24 hours. We run it, so that is our opinion.
- For the lowest price: TierHive Micro, if your bot fits in 128 MB. Many will not, so check first.
- For the lowest yearly bill with 256 MB: VirNAT or KhanWebHost. You pay up front or in larger blocks.
- For the lowest yearly bill with 512 MB: NATVPS NAT512, at $7.50 a year, paid up front.
- If your bot uses Docker: natbox will not work, as our servers are containers. EQVPS says Docker runs on its plans.
